I can’t speak highly enough about this experience. My daughter (age 8) joined my mother for a two-week stay with Hélène. They spent a week with her at her home in Lyon, followed by a week with Hélène and her incredibly warm and kind family in Montpeyroux. My daughter was nervous about the arrangement to start, but Hélène’s cheery and kind disposition made my daughter feel at ease. Hélène is an amazing host who goes out of her way to make her guests feel like her number one priority. This also extends to her family, as they all treated my daughter almost like one of their own!Hélène had suggested the second leg of the trip so my daughter could spend time with her nephew, who is about the same age. The plan worked perfectly as the two became instant friends, playing together in the pool for hours! My daughter also joined their family excursions to the lake and the beach, and they even took her to a pottery class!Because of all these hands-on experiences, my daughter’s French improved more in those two weeks than it had after a year with a tutor. By the end of the trip, she told me she wanted to try to spend the whole day speaking French.The entire trip was nothing short of magical and I am so appreciative of Hélène for putting it together. An incredibly memorable, one-of-a-kind experience overall.

I think it was an incredible trip in both places! First in Lyon: what I didn't like was... when I heard that Hélène's children only spoke French, I thought I'd only be able to talk to my grandmother! But later in the week, I got used to the French, but everything else in Lyon was great! Now it's time to talk about Montpeyroux. Everything about the place was great. I made new friends, my brother made new friends and we were happy!
