Judy's testimonial:
Where to begin describing my amazing immersion experience with Hélène? My time with her and her adorable family, including Lolo, her daughters, and sweet Kickass, was phenomenal. Hélène is truly a gifted teacher and communicator, and a warm and caring person who put me at ease from the moment she picked me up at the gare. Her teaching methods are top-notch -- we spent three hours most mornings in French sessions doing everything from listening comprehension to role playing to describing images to vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure. She does a fantastic job matching your level and building from there. I felt totally at ease even though I was definitely being challenged to stretch myself! Afternoons were usually spent biking around Lyon visiting museums or flea markets or just walking through the traboules. I loved Lyon! I was fortunate enough to visit their country home in the Ardêche, where we did some hiking and visited a Middle Ages village. On every excursion Hélène shared her vast knowledge of local history and culture. During the evenings I rested while Hélène created culinary magic with fresh local ingredients -- her cooking is superb! I can't say enough about how warmly the whole family welcomed me and made me feel right at home. Oh, and my private room and bathroom were very nice and comfortable (just FYI, the bed is a loft style accessed by a small ladder). I would absolutely recommend doing an immersion with Hélène, and I hope to return myself someday.
